ABOUT
We are a brand new daycare located in Glenburnie. Operating out of our 75 year old home, we are on a quiet dead end street off the main bus route (Unity Rd.) to Glenburnie School. We have strived to make our home as welcoming as possible!
Our home is small, but packs some great facilities for an engaging child care experience. We have a purpose built basement playroom, complete with every toy imaginable, including kid size instruments (a real kid size drumset), dolls, cars, dressup clothing, books, games and crafts. The room features its own two piece bathroom so that the kids don't have to go far from the fun. There are no locks on the doors, so no dangers of anyone getting trapped anywhere they don't want to be!
The main floor is used for additional play space including easels, play structures and a fully stocked Calico play set. Its also used for structured learning that includes reading, writing, math excersises, general art and craft construction as well as anything else you can think of!
Outside is almost always a childs favorite space, and we have that in spades. With just over an acre of lawnspace backed on trees, we have lots of room for little legs to run around. We have a screened trampoline, swingset, slide, and a full custom tree fort with its own slide and art/crafts inside. A full assortment of bikes, wagons, scooters and 12V toys are available as well.
Child Safety
Child Safety is something everyone should take very seriously. We have done are best to make a safe, secure and comfortable place for your child to stay. Rebecca is CPR and First Aid trained, and we have multiple fire extinguishers on the premises, as well as fully stocked first aid supplies. All three floors of the home have working fire alarms, and the basement has a CO2 detector.
All plumbing and electrical in the house is up to current code, it has been remodeled with modern building materials. We also have a state of the art water treatment system to ensure the water in every faucet of the home is guaranteed to be clean, clear and bacteria free.
Our Staff
Glenburnie Daycare is run by Rebecca Kennedy, a mother of one, and a registered MOA with experience at general clinics, as well as the maternity ward at SGH in British Columbia.
She has devoted her life to caring for her own family, and has now chosen to expand that care to your family as well. She is joined at times by her husband of 10 years, a family first man who works for a small local business full time.
The staff to child ratio will never be more than 5:1, including our own children. We are keeping the child care size to a minimum to ensure each child receives our fullest attention.
Now we have toddler friendly stairs going to the tree fort, so kids of all ages and walking abilities can explore.
